Description of Javanese Cat Breed
The Javanese is basically a spicy colored version of the Balinese. They have the grace, intelligence and refinement of the Siamese, with the fabulous coat of the Balinese, with the beautiful colors of the Colorpoint Shorthair.
Javanese were accepted by the Cat Fanciers Association for championship in 1986. The Javanese standard is identical to that of the Balinese - a cat of Siamese type with a long flowing coat, the only difference between them is the colors accepted for championship competition.
With Javanese, the lynx points seem to be the most popular pattern. Colors of lynx points vary coming in cream and red, chocolate, blue, lilac and the tortie points. Other colors are blue, chocolate, seal and lilac points.
Pricing on Javanese usually depends on type, applicable markings and bloodlines. Typically breeders of all breeds of kittens release their kittens somewhere between twelve and sixteen weeks of age. The reasoning behind keeping a kitten until after twelve weeks is that kittens have had their basic inoculations. This gives them time to develop the physical and social stability needed to make a smooth transition into their new environment. It is never recommended that a breeder release a kitten before twelve weeks of age as the kittens need this time to develop properly. Releasing a kitten prior to twelve weeks of age is against the law in many states. It is also recommended that you keep all pedigreed cats and kittens indoors and that they be spayed or neutered. Cats and kittens of all ages also need suitable surfaces for scratching, such as scratching posts. Scratching is a natural behavior of the cat breed and declawing a cat is not recommended and is not accepted by the Cat Fanciers Association.
